It’s been a while since I’ve given an update on my situation. It’s not because I’m all better and just haven’t taken the time to write. I’ve been busy with appointments and doing what I need to do in between the appointments. I’m still having trouble walking and have very low energy, which makes it hard to exercise or contribute much to the household needs. Anxiety is still an issue as well.

We, however, are citizens of heaven. We look forward to the Lord Jesus Christ coming from heaven as our saviour. (Philippians 3:20)

I have, however, recently began taking a medication to help with movement and with depression. I’ve also started taking a new supplement and we have been seeing small changes, but it’s still early in the process. Hopefully, we see more signs that we’re on the right track with these treatments.

I still, however, have a big part to play in my recovery. What I believe about myself, and about God’s power inside of me, makes a huge difference in the way that I feel, and even in the actual health and well-being of my body. I know it sounds hard to believe but I’ve experienced it personally. It’s difficult to turn that ship around but not impossible, especially with God’s help.

The Lord is my light and my salvation. Who is there to fear? The Lord is my life’s fortress. Who is there to be afraid of? (Psalm 27:1)

I’ve been trying cold therapy lately. Many people in my circle believe in the healing power of the cold, especially ice-baths. I won’t be doing that any time soon, but my therapist believes it could help balance out my mood issues. I am willing to try the shower method, and I’ll let you know how that goes. But there are many ways to administer the cold to your body; icepacks or very cold cloths on your head and neck area, submerging your face in a bowl of ice-water while holding your breath for 30 seconds, (or as long as you’re able), very cold footbaths, and of course, for the very brave, ice baths or polar plunges.

I’m not telling you to do any of the above. I’ve just heard positive things with people using cold to help stabilize mood problems, so I thought it was worth a try at least. If you plan to try any cold therapy, make sure to discuss it first with your main caregiver, probably your doctor, traditional or naturopathic. There may be a safety concern such as heart problems or any other issue that may not benefit from therapeutic cold. Get ready to shiver!
